I must be honest, from time to time, I think we'll I must be honest, from time to time, I think we'll never know life without lockdown. I can't imagine the day we'll be allowed to squeeze into a stadium, shoulder to shoulder for a concert again. I can't picture a day of no masks in shops. Or handshakes. Or hugs. Or no sanitiser. I don't know if there will ever be a time where #covid won't be killing people somewhere in the world. Some days, it's almost too much to bear! Living in a third world country (one of the best ones!) I couldn't picture any of our family being vaccinated before the end of the year. I've had to rely heavily on the Lord that He has a plan in all of this chaos and heartache. I've had to look up and ahead, instead of looking back and down. And then, if the #coronavirus and a year of lockdown wasn't enough, we got hit with the worst riots and looting in my memory! The last time the army deployed in such numbers was 1993 just before our democracy! At times last week, it seemed as if all was lost. For the first time, I lacked faith that our country was salvageable. But...I need to trust that He will indeed heal our land. And maybe, just maybe, this all happened so we would humble ourselves, repent and pray. A lot has happened in the last week. KZN has been A lot has happened in the last week. KZN has been hit hard. We were exceptionally blessed to be one of the only towns around us to be unaffected by the looting. That's not to say there weren't nights I wasn't scared. I've never been more scared in my life! Soon I'll tell you our story. While it's nothing like so many of you have experienced, it was still paralysing and caused me to see what's of real worth. Despite it all, I still love my country! I love the people in our land. This past week has been a true testament to the beauty of South Africans.
